Membership

Dear Members,

We are pleased to announce that Bayside Swimming Club continues to be a registered Swimming Victoria Club for the 2026/27 season.

Our membership is made up of two components: the compulsory SV/SAL fee and the Bayside Club fee.

The SV/SAL fee goes to Swimming Victoria — the governing state body. This fee:

  • Provides the mandatory insurance for all our members.
  • Allows you to compete at any swim meet.
  • Covers you for insurance at any swim meet endorsed by Swimming Victoria.

The Bayside Club fee is used to cover internal costs, including regular club administration, accounting and auditing, subscriptions, communications, and club social expenses. It also provides the opportunity to:

  • Participate as a member of our State and National Teams (pre-qualification required).
  • Participate in Club-related trips and camps.
  • Participate in our Club social events and activities.

The Bayside Club fee also covers the cost of nominated coaches attending selected Swimming Victoria meets across the SC and LC seasons. Please note that it does not cover the cost of any squad coaching outside of this meet attendance.

The above information is intended to give families insight into our operating costs and structure, as we want to ensure full transparency for all our members.

As a not-for-profit organisation, any membership surplus will be used for the benefit of all our members in ways appropriate to the age and stage of each swimmer. Club membership for 2026/27 runs for twelve months from 1 July 2026.

SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR 2026/27:

We have two membership categories available to swimmers for the 2026/27 season:

  • 11 & Under — $200
  • 12 & Over — $360
  • Dry Land members (mandatory, one adult per family) — $20.00

All swimmers under the age of 18 must have an associated dry land member (parent or guardian).

Please note: Swimming Victoria applies a 3% surcharge on payment.

Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • As part of our commitment to child safety and in accordance with Swimming Victoria’s recommendations, all individuals aged 18 years and over who are working or volunteering with children must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

If you do not currently hold a WWCC, you can apply online via Service Victoria. Volunteer WWCCs are free of charge. Apply for a Working with Children Check here: https://service.vic.gov.au/find-services/work-and-volunteering/working-with-children-check

  • If you already hold a valid WWCC, you are required to upload it to Swim Central as part of your Dry Land membership registration (instructions are attached).

Once you have uploaded your WWCC document, please complete the following form to notify the Club: https://forms.gle/ditXAU71jGWAxd5Y7

Refunds — Once membership is paid to Swimming Victoria, refunds will only be provided in exceptional circumstances. Refund requests should be directed in the first instance to membership@baysideswimming.org.au.
